New York City, 1920.
The Prohibition has just begun, and the temperance movement is in full swing. Across America, beloved venues have closed their doors forever – but in secret, a counterculture flourishes.
So named for the practice of ‘Speaking Easy’ – something writers today would call ‘Plain English’ – the underground scene thrived on clear communication, avoiding frills and stuffy platitudes in favour of straightforward, honest transparency.
The Speakeasy would become a cultural symbol of freedom, expressive liberty, and community; where free-spirits and creative minds met to explore music, art and culture.
It is in the spirit of these original rebels that we operate today.
Encouraged by their passion, we’re proud and excited to contribute our artistic vision to your projects. Like the thrillseekers who operated these hidden bars, we’re experts in what we do – crafting hand tailored, bespoke solutions to your taste, whatever they may be. And inspired by their defiant, cunning spirits, we know the language rules well enough to break them, so we can give people exactly what they need, when they need it.
‘Speakeasy’
